Excellent location. Great views. Lovely restaurant. I had a wonderful, relaxing lunch. The views of Naukuchiatal lake were spectacular. Strongly recommended. If you are going to the Lake District of Uttrakhand, Naukuchiatal would be on top of my list and the Camphor tree area my #1 place to visit

It was supposed to be a stay for one night with breakfast but we ended up staying four nights. The GPS got us close, one phone call, and we were told to just open the gate and follow the dirt path. There was a person waiting for us at the other gate. It's a huge property reaching from the seashore all the way up the hill. The building is a renovated simple house with few large guest rooms and a Terrasse tugged away between trees. The care taker has few members of staff and they do a great job keeping the place up, cooking and tending to the needs of their guests. Their very friendly dog Lily was always around, sometimes the neighbor's dog but most amazingly the variety of birds just everywhere! Go ahead, ask the care taker for the book. He is an expert on bird watching. Smell the camphor leaves. Make a camp fire. Hike up the hill. Take a boat ride on the lake. One day is just not enough!

- After having some deep research on Naukuchiatal I planned a short getaway at The Camphor Tree, Naukuchiatal with my two insane friends (Harsh & Nitin). - The Camphor Tree is very beautiful & charming property located off the Naukuchiatal Lake, ideal for nature lovers. - We reached at the location by google maps and stopped at a point where road half encircles with one lake sailing point on your left and small shops/dhabas on the right serving chips,cold drinks, noodles/pakoras, tea, coffee, food etc. - After reaching Naukuchiatal I made a phone call to Samir(Owner of the property) and had a nice short communication about the booking which he was already aware of. Then Vinay(Manager) approached us and guided us the way to the property which was completely secluded and private. - We went in off season(February) so we were the only guest at the property hence we enjoyed a lot here and spent a nice quality time. Vinay and other staff greeted us and transferred our luggage to the family suite located at the first floor. - There are three rooms at the first floor all of them are very spacious with lake facing view. Bathroom is also very spacious. - The top floor includes a nice sit out area with a beautiful view of the lake and forest at the back side with trek trails to explore which we did and enjoyed. - Waking up here in the morning is really an experience. - From three of us Harsh likes this place more than us do because he is a nature lover and spotted lots of birds early morning. Nitin and me loves the peaceful aura of this place. While gazing the nature we enjoyed the cup of coffee made by Harsh & Nitin. - Food is awesome. Recommended to eat here at the property. - Breakfast whether on the terrace or anywhere in the open area is a great experience in itself. - The guys who work here(VINAY, Jitender, Deepak I rembered only these name) are really nice and doing a great job. - Large private parking is available at the property. - The Camphor Tree is the perfect place for those who seeks an experience of a comfortable holiday stay in the lap of nature. - Overall It was an extremely refreshing stay! Would love to come back here again. How to reach: The Camphor Tree, Naukuchiatal is around 300KM from Delhi. It will be a 7 hours journey with two short breaks. Best route is Delhi-Hapur-Gajraula-Moradabad-Tanda-Bazpur-Kaladhungi-Kathgodam-Bhimtal-Naukuchiatal. Nearest railway station is Kathgodam which is 27KM from this property. This property is just 20 mins scenic drive from Bhimtal, with the road winding through lake, small village and shops.

Amazing location right on the lake. It is a old mansion converted into B&B sort of property. The staff gives you personal attention and are very hospitable. Rooms are ok for a 2 night stay. Take the suite if you have kids on the first floor also gives you open views of the lake
